Engineering Alliance Student Transition Plan

As Georgia Tech undergraduate programs in civil, computer, electrical, and mechanical engineering are transitioned from Savannah to Atlanta, the Institute is committed to supporting students as they complete their Georgia Tech degrees.

Students in Engineering Alliance, a joint program with Armstrong Atlantic State University, will be able to complete their Georgia Tech degrees on the Atlanta campus.

Georgia Tech has set up a BuzzPort group for Engineering Alliance students with specific details, forms, and links. Sign in at www.buzzport.gatech.edu.

Incoming Engineering Alliance Students           (Fall 2011)

If you received a Georgia Tech admission letter to the Engineering Alliance program and began your studies at Armstrong in Fall 2011, you will be expected to meet all RETP requirements to transition to Georgia Tech’s Atlanta campus. This includes minimum GPA requirements (2.7 overall and math and science) and class requirements. You may also choose to transfer through RETP or the regular transfer process; however, if you do so, you will be expected to meet those program requirements.

Returning Engineering Alliance Students

If you received a Georgia Tech admission letter to the Engineering Alliance program for Fall 2008, Fall 2009 or Fall 2010, you have three options to transition to Georgia Tech’s Atlanta campus: Engineering Alliance, RETP, or the regular transfer program.

Students with a GPA below a 2.7 will be individually counseled and may be required to take additional coursework (with a minimum GPA) at AASU before being allowed to transition to Georgia Tech (Atlanta) through the Engineering Alliance Program.

Engineering Alliance students in non-engineering majors may transfer to Atlanta through the regular transfer process after earning 30 transferable hours.

OPTION A - Transition to Georgia Tech (Atlanta) through the Engineering Alliance

OPTION B - Transfer to Georgia Tech (Atlanta) through RETP

OPTION C - Transfer to Georgia Tech (Atlanta) through the regular transfer process
