Why should I consider co-oping or interning?
- You'll gain great work experience
- You'll earn money during your work semesters as an intern or co-op
- You'll confirm choice of major
- You'll understand the professional workplace
- You'll improve after-graduation job prospects (many co-ops receive job offers upon graduation)
- You'll network with professionals
- You'll receive progressive in-depth experience with each semester of work
- You'll receive a co-op designation on diploma or an internship designation on transcript (or both!)
Undergraduate Co-op:

- Once you start working, the alternation schedule is mandatory

- At least three work terms are required (two must be in fall & spring)
- Students enroll in free audit course to maintain full-time status while working
- (maintain health benefits, etc.)
- Work experience appears on transcript
- No tuition
- Will be required to submit reports documenting activities during work periods
- Financial Aid (HOPE, etc) should not be affected

What should transfer students know about co-op?
- Baseline requirements to be admitted to program:

- This may be adjusted if you enter the GT Co-op program with previous co-op experience.
- If you participated in Co-op before transferring, you can receive one term of work credit
Internships
- You must complete one semester as a full-time Georgia Tech student with a minimum 2.0 GPA before you can participate in an internship
- Internships should be related to your major or community service-related
- Internship can be in the Summer, fall or spring
- It can be part-time (20+ hrs/wk) or full-time
- You can work multiple internships with varying employers
- You will receive a notation on your transcript (if registered through the internship program)
- Baseline requirements to be admitted to program:
2.0 GPA
No failing grades in semester immediately preceding internship.
