Graduate Student Activities Fee Allocation Committee

The Graduate Student Activity Fees Allocation Committee (GSAFAC) consists of five GT-S graduate students who decide how student fees are allocated. The members of the committee are nominated and elected by their fellow students. They must pay GT-S fees themselves. At least one member of the committee must be from CEE, ECE and ME. Elections are normally held during fall semester. However, if a committee leaves or graduates prior to the end of the academic year, a new election will be held.

Current members of the GSAFAC are:

  • Brian McFall, Chair (CEE)
  • Thomas Stone, Secretary (ME)
  • Stephen Bradshaw (ECE)
  • Justin Hawthorn (CEE)
  • Klimka Szwaykowska (ECE)

GSAFAC funds a variety of student events each year, including trips to conferences. Any student or organization who wishes to apply for funding should fill out one of the request forms below and return it to one of the committee members in advance of the event to be funded. A description of the event must be attached to the form. The requestor must also be present at the meeting at which the funding request is discussed in order to answer any questions the committee may have and provide further information. For GSAFAC to fund an event, it must be open to all GT-S undergraduates and GSAFAC must be mentioned in any marketing of the event, such as posters or emails.

2010-11 GSAFAC-supported activities:

  • Provided funding assistance to 16 graduate students to attend US and international workshops and conferences
