Undergraduate Student Activities Fee Allocation Committee

The Undergraduate Student Activities Fee Allocation Committee (USAFAC) consists of five GT-S undergraduates who decide how student fees are allocated. The members of the committee are nominated and elected by their fellow students. They must pay GT-S fees themselves. At least one member of the committee must be from CEE, ECE and ME. Elections are normally held during fall semester. However, if a committee leaves or graduates prior to the end of the academic year, a new election will be held.

Current members:

  • Billy Deason, ECE
  • Justin English, ME
  • Jasmine Magerkurth, ME (Chair)
  • Erin Ryland, CEE (Secretary/Treasurer)
  • Brandon Webster, ME

USAFAC funds a wide variety of student events each year, as well as providing funding assistance to undergraduates attending conferences. Any student or organization who wishes to apply for funding should fill out one of the request forms below and return it to one of the committee members in advance of the event to be funded. A description of the event must be attached to the form. The requestor must also be present at the meeting at which the funding request is discussed in order to answer any questions the committee may have and provide further information. For USAFAC to fund an event, it must be open to all GT-S undergraduates and USAFAC must be mentioned in any marketing of the event, such as posters or emails.

2010-11 Events Funded:

  • Sand Gnats Game (organized by ASCE & SAME; co-sponsored with Graduate Student Activities Fee Allocation Committee)
  • League registration fees and equipment for GT-S Soccer Team
  • Bowling Night (organized by ASCE)
  • Coffee for finals week
  • Football trips to Atlanta
  • Providing GT-S flags to local businesses in return for student discounts (co-sponsored with Graduate Student Fee Allocation Committee)
