Library Policy

Georgia Tech Savannah students, staff and faculty utilize the Georgia Tech Atlanta library for their respective research needs. The ability to order a journal article, book or any other related media is completed through an online request form. Book shipments from the library are delivered twice weekly to the Georgia Tech Savannah campus. Book returns are done on a weekly basis each Friday. The expenses associated with shipping these books are absorbed by both the Georgia Tech Library and Georgia Tech Savannah campus. E-mail notifications are sent out promptly to the book recipient when books have arrived at the campus.

Once a patron receives the book they, in turn, take responsibility for that book. If the book is stamped with a "Georgia Tech Library" stamp it is part of the State of Georgia University Library System. The Georgia Tech Savannah campus is not capable of scanning the book into the Georgia Tech Library system as there is no librarian on staff. Please make every effort to review the due dates and return your Georgia Tech library books in a timely fashion as this will ensure that your library account is cleared.

Interlibrary Loan Service obtains materials not owned by the Georgia Tech Library from other libraries or commercial suppliers. Copies of articles are sent directly to the requestor’s Georgia Tech email account. (If you prefer a paper/print copy, it will be sent with the weekly shipment of books, and a charge may be incurred). Many ILL items can be obtained free. Fees may apply if the supplier charges for the service. In these cases the supplier will outline the payment options.
