SAVANNAH (10-Dec-10) - The Georgia Institute of Technology held its annual graduate recognition and awards ceremony for 25 degree candidates of the Savannah campus on December 7, 2010. Georgia Tech Savannah offers classes leading to degrees in the fields of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Doctoral students were honored and inducted into the "Order of the Engineer." Students that take the Oath of an Engineer pledge to "practice integrity and fair dealing, tolerance and respect, and to uphold to the standards and the diginity" in their profession.
The annual ceremony was marked by a video address from Dr. J. David Frost, Vice Provost of Georgia Tech and Director of Georgia Tech Savannah. It alsofeatured guest speaker Cathy Hill, Region Vice President of the Coastal Region for Georgia Power. Hill is an alum of Georgia Tech. She earned her Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech, an MBA from Georgia State University and completed the Executive Management Program at Harvard Business School.
The ceremony was held at the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum.
