Georgia Tech Savannah Open House

 

SAVANNAH, Ga. (March 28, 2011) –Georgia Tech Savannah (GTS) invites prospective students, parents, the general public and media to attend an Open House on April 2, 2011 from 2 - 5 p.m. Attendees will learn more about the Georgia Tech application process, take a guided tour of the campus, meet current students and professors and view live lab demonstrations. In addition, visitors can learn more about Georgia Tech Savannah’s summer camp offerings for students in grades 4 -12.

Demonstrations will be performed including a team of Electrical and Computer Engineering students who built a Paraplegic Assisted Driving System on a golf cart. Student organizations will be present to field questions and discuss student activities, internship and co-op experiences. In addition, an interactive computer animation workshop about SCRATCH will be held for the younger participants. SCRATCH is a very popular K-12 community outreach activity that is utilized during the summer camps.

The Georgia Tech Savannah event follows open houses being held at Armstrong Atlantic State University and Georgia Southern University earlier in the day. RSVPs are recommended but not required.
