Georgia Tech Savannah takes Home three Gold Tower Awards

Georgia Tech hosts the Gold Tower Awards annually to recognize excellence in communications and marketing throughout the entire Institution. There are a total of 18 award categories. Each category honors one recipient or team with a Gold Tower Award and the best runner up is awarded with the Recognition of Excellence Award. This year there were over 100 entries submitted from 36 different campus units.

The Gold Tower Awards reception took place on Thursday, November 17, 2011, in which Georgia Tech Savannah received a Recognition of Excellence award in three categories: Websites and Microsites, Annual Events, and Staff Communicator of the Year.

The award for Websites and Microsites recognizes outstanding work and innovation in digital communications. The Georgia Tech Savannah Website won the Recognition of Excellence award for this category and was presented to Dave Wagner, Nikki Troxclair, Lane Thames, Casey Smith, and Melanie Paul.

The Annual Events awards are given to the events recognized as outstanding events that have made a significant impact on advancing a college, unit, or Georgia Tech in general. Georgia Tech Savannah won the Recognition of Excellence award for the Georgia Tech Savannah Order of the Engineer and Graduate Recognition Ceremony and was presented to Natalie Cosner.

Staff Communicator of the Year recognizes a member of the campus community who fosters excellence in communications and marketing and contributes to the development and support of institutional and unit-level communications, marketing, and branding. Georgia Tech Savannah’s own Nikki Troxclair was awarded Recognition of Excellencefor this category.
