Through the Exploring Program, high school students can explore a wide variety of careers, from health sciences to communications. The Exploring Program is coordinated by Learning for Life, a division of the Boy Scouts of America, which serves both male and female students. The Savannah Exploring Posts are aimed primarily at high school juniors and seniors. Students are released from 1/2 day of school each month to participate in Explorer activities with their post sponsors.
Georgia Tech Savannah is please to co-sponsor two Engineering Explorer Posts, one with Thomas and Hutton, and the other with Hussey, Gay, Bell and DeYoung. Through the programs, students work with professional engineers, engage in hands on activities related to the engineers' everyday work, and explore additional engineering disciplines at Georgia Tech Savannah.
The program is open to high school juniors and seniors within a reasonable driving distance of Savannah. The program begins accepting applications at the end of spring semester for the following academic year, but applications are still accepted during fall semester. Students interested in joining an Engineering Explorer Post should apply through the Exploring/Learning for Life coordinator, Barbara Foley.
