LEGO League: Volunteer

Great Fun
Great Volunteers

The LEGO League competition is great fun, but also requires great volunteers!  We welcome all volunteers, from high school students to professors, and from prospective coaches to parents.  This year's event is scheduled for Saturday, December 3.  The program typically runs from 10:00 through 3:00, with most volunteers arriving around 9:30.

Volunteer roles include:

  • Refereeing the LEGO competition table (requires 1 hour of training)
  • Assisting at the LEGO competition table (also some training)
  • Judging student skits for projects
  • Judging robot design through team interviews
  • Judging teamwork (new format, should be really funny!)
  • Behind the scenes work (helping teams find the right rooms, checking in on judges, supervising practice tables, etc.)

The organizers for the state of Georgia may offer an online volunteer orientation program, which will help volunteers field their positions.  If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the form below, and we will keep you up to date on the program details.

In addition, if you are interested in working with a LEGO team before the competition, to help them prepare, we can connect you.  You do not need to volunteer for the competition to work with a team.  If anything, you might want to stay with the team during the competition!

Please use the form below to volunteer for the event or to mentor.

Volunteering for the Competition

Some of our volunteer roles focus more on the technical/robotic aspects of the program.  Other roles focus on the children and the experience.  Are you more interested in the technical/robotic side of the program, or the child/experience side?

While we may not be able to match all volunteers to their preferred roles, we'd like to try!  If you are interested in a specific role, please indicate below (multiple selections are allowed).

Mentoring a Team

What geographic area are you in or interested in working in?  Please list your city, as well as the part of town if it is a limiting factor.

LEGO Robotics Loans for Classrooms

Is your school considering investing in LEGO Robotics?  Through LEGO robotics loans for classrooms, schools can borrow full classroom sets for two to three weeks.
