In 2010, TEDx held its first TEDxCreativeCoast Conference in Savannah with dynamic keynote speakers such as Dr. David Frost, GT Vice Provost and Director of Georgia Tech-Savannah.

Savannah Engineering Academy

The Savannah Engineering Academy is a five-day summer program for high school students considering careers in engineering. Program sessions and hands on activities are planned, developed and presented by local businesses, volunteers from professional organizations, and engineering professors.  Academy participants interact with engineers, compete in hands on challenges (such as building castles of cards, designing and testing water filters, etc.) and tour facilities such as Gulfstream, the Georgia Ports Authority, and Standard Concrete Products.  The academy is made possible by local companies, professional organizations, and professional engineers who volunteer their time and talents to academy students.
